Fog Men defeat Shasta, 37-17

The men of Fog Rugby achieved a 37-17 win over Redding’s Shasta Highlanders RFC on Saturday, March 7, marking the Fog’s third win of the 2009 NCRFU season.

In addition to the win, the Fog earned a bonus point in the NCRFU standings due to the margin of victory.

Fog Men prevail over Vallejo, 23-5

The men of the San Francisco Fog scored a 23-5 victory over Vallejo RFC today, garnering their second victory this season.

Fog Rugby sincerely thanks Vallejo for traveling to San Francisco and playing a well-fought match.

Fog Men victorious over Stanislaus

The San Francisco Fog Men prevailed over Modesto’s Stanislaus RFC with heart-felt and technical play to win its first victory in the NCRFU 2009 Season by a score of 27-5. Fog Rugby sincerely thanks the Stanislaus Harlots for traveling to San Francisco and playing a well-fought match.

Four Wins for Fog Rugby! - November 8

The San Francisco Fog prevailed on a day filled with lots of rugby, winning all four of its matches against competition from all over California, including two IGRAB (International Gay Rugby Association and Board) member clubs, the Los Angeles Rebellion and San Diego Armada, and the Sacramento Amazons women’s club. The day was highlighted by the presence of CHEER San Francisco, who provided excitement from the sidelines and pumped up the crowd throughout all of the matches.

The Fog Men’s developmental side started off the day with a 31-0 victory against the San Diego Armada. The Fog Men’s competitive side took the field next and defeated the Los Angeles Rebellion, 21-0. The Fog Women starred in the third match of the day, winning 31-19 against the Sacramento Amazons. Lastly, the Fog prevailed against a combined Los Angeles/San Diego side, 22-3.

The Fog offers thanks to the Sacramento Amazons, the Los Angeles Rebellion, and the San Diego Armada for traveling to San Francisco and playing some great rugby. The Fog also extends sincere thanks to CHEER San Francisco for all their spirit and support throughout the day.

Mike Sammon Memorial Game - Oct 25

The San Francisco Fog Men kicked off their pre-season with a match against the San Jose Silverhawks on Saturday, October 25 in San Jose, CA. The match was held in honor and memory of the late Mike Sammon, a long time member of the Seahawk rugby family and fixture in the South Bay rugby community for 26 years who passed away in 2006. Both experienced and new ruggers from the Fog played tremendous rugby, with the Silverhawks emerging as victors of the match by a final score of 45 to 25.

Fog Women vs. ORSU Rugby - Oct 4

The San Francisco Fog Women faced off against the ORSU Rugby women’s team in another Pacific Coast Rugby Football Union women’s division match. Going up against the national sweet 16 finalists from last year, the Lady Fog held their own ground and continued to play technically-sound and spirited rugby.

Fog Women vs. Davis - Sep 27

Fresh from their victorious road trip to Seattle last weekend, the Women of Fog Rugby squared off in the first home match of the season against the newly-formed Davis DoubleDeckers women’s rugby squad. The game featured outstanding rugby play and a tight score throughout all 80 minutes of the match, with the Fog falling just short of the victory line and a final score of 16-12 in favor of the upstart DoubleDeckers.

Fog Women Victorious in Seattle - Sep 13/14

The San Francisco Fog Women traveled up the coast to Seattle, Washington for a weekend of rugby, playing two matches in consecutive days within the Pacific Coast Rugby Football Union Women’s Division. The Fog lost Saturday’s game against the Seattle Mudhens, a club that made the Sweet 16 USA rugby women’s national championship playoffs last year, by a score of 46-7. The ladies then bounced back on Sunday as victors by defeating the Seattle Breakers 21-20, winning in the last few seconds on a try and conversion kick and ending the weekend on a high note.

The next game for the Lady Fog will be against the Davis RFC from Davis, California in two weeks on Saturday, September 27 at the Fog’s home pitch in Treasure Island.
