B.A.D.Girls and Fog Women Get Dirty
If you attended the Fog’s jell-o wrestling event last year, you know how much good, clean, artificially flavored fun was had by both the wrestlers and the audience.
What, you missed it? Then you definitely don’t want to skip this event: The women of Fog Rugby are joining the B.ay A.rea D.erby Girls for an evening of female mud-wrestling.
We can’t begin to guess who will come out on top. Will it be the roller derby gals or the lady ruggers? The only way to find out is to show up and support a good cause (the B.A.D.Girls themselves!).
When: Friday, February 6 - doors open 8pm
Where: Cell Space, 2050 Bryant St, SF
Admission: $15

Fog Rugby hails milestone for Ottawa Wolves
The San Francisco Fog today is cheering the entrance of the Ottawa Wolves RFC into the Eastern Ontario Rugby Union.
The Wolves are a newly formed gay rugby team in French-speaking Canada. The club’s president, Carl Pilon (Angry Carl Jr.), played with us over the past few years when he was living in San Francisco. He credits that experience as the inspiration for founding the Wolves.
In their first season the Wolves will play seven exhibition games against other teams in their union. We cheer their entrance into the EORU and wish them continued success.
Fog Men victorious over Stanislaus
The San Francisco Fog Men prevailed over Modesto’s Stanislaus RFC with heart-felt and technical play to win its first victory in the NCRFU 2009 Season by a score of 27-5. Fog Rugby sincerely thanks the Stanislaus Harlots for traveling to San Francisco and playing a well-fought match.
Minneapolis to host The Bingham Cup
Fog Rugby congratulates the Minneapolis Mayhem RFC on its successful bid to host The Bingham Cup® in 2010.
Despite strong competition in the bidding process from Las Vegas’s Sin City Irish RFC, the Mayhem prevailed in a vote by the membership of IGRAB, which comprises representatives of every gay-identifying men’s rugby union club worldwide.
The Bingham Cup® was first hosted by the San Francisco Fog in 2002, and is held every two years. Other cities that have hosted the event are London (2004), New York City (2006), and Dublin (2008).

Minneapolis is our choice to host The Bingham Cup in 2010
The San Francisco Fog RFC strongly supports the Minneapolis Mayhem RFC’s bid for The Bingham Cup® in 2010.
IGRAB’s mission is to establish and nurture member clubs whose goals align with its own. The Mayhem was founded as an IGRAB club, with IGRAB’s help, and since its inception has been a model for what IGRAB hopes to accomplish as an organizing body.
We believe IGRAB’s Bid Evaluation Committee erred in its interpretation of the IGRAB constitution when it allowed a non-member club to submit a bid. Fog Rugby feels very strongly that only member clubs who embody and actively pursue IGRAB’s stated goals should benefit from the worldwide attention and increased public profile that results from hosting The Bingham Cup®.
IGRAB has only a handful of tools available to pursue its mission of developing and deepening the organizational capacity of its member clubs. We would be misguided if we used that power to benefit a non-member club when a superb bid from a fellow IGRAB club exists.
Minneapolis has done the hard work it takes to establish and grow an IGRAB club. They have submitted a terrific bid and that is why we enthusiastically support them as hosts of The Bingham Cup® in 2010.

Fog Men vs. Redding - December 13
The San Francisco Fog Men travel north this Saturday to face off against the Redding Highlanders in the eighth annual Bingham Stein match.
The Bingham Stein is a symbol of the first meeting between the two teams, which took place a few weeks after September 11, 2001. Proposing that that match be played in honor of Fog player Mark Bingham, who lost his life aboard United flight 93, the Highlanders furnished a commemorative beer stein that each year goes home with the winner.
The Fog has managed to keep the trophy in San Francisco for the past two years, but the Highlanders will be trying to reverse their recent losses and keep the Bingham Stein in Redding for the next 12 months. It’s sure to be a great match!
Place: Foothill High School, 9733 Deschutes Rd, Palo Cedro CA (map)
Date: Saturday, December 13
Time: Kickoff at 1pm

Fog Rugby is proud to feature both women's and men's teams. We welcome new members at any time.
